Hi Woodward Families!

It has been another great week of learning at Woodward. Student leaders have been busy planning Crazy Hair and Hat Day (Wednesday, March 9), preparing Accountability posters and messages, and helping around the school. Our Wildcats have been busy playing basketball this week too, including a big win against Bridge! And all students have been working hard and learning a lot. We are all excited for Spring Break and look forward to sharing in more fun and great learning next week.

With Spring Break just around the corner, we hope you have some fun (and safe) activities planned. Take a look at our Woodward Spring Break suggestions:

• Indigenous Canoe Culture exhibit at the Vancouver Maritime Museum
• Beaty Nocturnal tours at UBC
• Skating at the North Van Shipyards
• Monster Jam at the PNE
• Go for a bike ride along Richmond’s recreational trails
• Plan family games – board games, family Olympics, backyard obstacle courses.
• Book time for your family at the Oval or the new Minoru pool
• Read together
• Go on a neighbourhood scavenger hunt
• Cook together
• Create a kitchen science lab
• Got a great idea – share with your class, teacher, or school!

COVID and Health and Safety Updates:

Spring Break is often a time for families to visit and experience new places. Please see the attached document for current information regarding safe travel and returns.

Please remember to complete the Mandatory Daily Health check every morning (updated in the newsletter).  If your child is not feeling well, they need to stay home. Inform the school that your child will be staying home because they are ill. If possible or appropriate for your situation it would be helpful if you could indicate the nature of the illness (for example, tooth ache, tummy ache, or COVID). If symptoms continue, please contact your health practitioner, or call 811 to obtain medical advice regarding staying home or returning to school.
