Woodward #34 - May 27, 2022
Hi Woodward families!
Year-end excitement has come to Woodward. Field trips are planned. Events are being organized. We look forward to sharing these memories and events with you all month long.
Earlier this week, I mentioned that there will be a new principal starting at Woodward in September. Mr. Zarchikoff has been a principal in Richmond for 20 years. He has even been a principal at Woodward before. He is excited to return to our amazing community.
Over the last 3 plus years, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow with this amazing community. Students, staff, and parents of Woodward have always been supportive, caring and generous. The children have taught me perseverance, laughter, and joy. The parents have taught me the power of a nurturing champion and a strong advocate. The staff have taught me to always give my best every day because this is what all our students deserve. I will hold this learning close to me as I continue my journey at another school Thank you for all your kind messages and support. I look forward to cherishing each moment June will bring to us.
Have a great long weekend!
PAC AGM Monday
Our PAC AGM is scheduled for Monday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. It will be on Teams. A link will be sent to our community on Monday. At our PAC AGM, we elect our executive for the next year. As our PAC transitions into a new year, this is a great opportunity for parents to take an active role in supporting our school. We encourage parents to attend to learn more about our PAC. Our current PAC executive is amazing and supportive. It is a great team to join.
Bike to School Week: May 30 –June 3.
Bike to School Week is an annual celebration where students are encouraged to bike, roll, or walk to school. A Bike to School Week Guide, with accompanying links, activity ideas and strategies for inclusion can found on the attached HUB Cycle information page.
Please bring your bikes to the side entrance and bikes can be stored in our courtyard.
