Woodward Newsletter #32 - May, 13, 2022

Hi Woodward families!

It was another great week of learning at Woodward. We are very excited about the opportunities the nice, spring weather gives us to take our learning outdoors. We have an exciting week coming up, including our Track Meet and Welcome to Kindergarten.

Have a great weekend!

May Hot Lunch Moved

Our May hot lunch is now on May 26, not May 27.

Track Meet Information

Our track meet is on Tuesday, May 17th at the Minoru Track. Events begin at 9:00 a.m. Some students will be trransported by bus or car. Students can be picked up directly from Minoru following their final event. Please check in with Ms. Clark when dropping off or picking up your child. All students need to bring weather appropriate clothes (layers, running shoes), a water bottle, snacks, and a lunch. Parking is very limited. Spectators are encouraged to carpool, take transit, or park and walk. We look forward to this great event!

Welcome to Kindergarten!

All incoming Kindergarten students and their caregivers are invited to our Welcome to Kindergarten event on Wednesday, May 19th from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. We will be sharing information about the school and the organization for next year.  As well, we will have some fun “preparing for Kindergarten” activities for families to try!  Each family will receive a special bag of goodies to use in the months before Kindergarten to help prepare their child for their first school experience. We are eager to meet our newest Wildcats!

Pro-D Day and Victoria Day

Woodward will be closed to students for our May 20th pro-d day and the Victoria Day holiday. We hope you enjoy this extra long weekend with your family.

Grade 7 Parent Volunteers Needed

Our grade seven parents help make our year end celebrations special. We need your help. If you are interested in supporting our events, please contact Bonnie Tan at

Picnic in the Park – June 17

Save the date! Our PAC and Woodward Elementary would like to invite you to a family picnic in the park on Friday, June 17. Bring your dinner and outdoor games to enjoy an evening with our Woodward community. More information will come at the beginning of June!
