2025-2026 School Focus

As our Woodward Community wraps up a first year with Growth Mindset as our School Learning Story collective focus, we look back on the tremendous growth we have seen in our learners as they have embraced 'I can' and worked through the feelings that come with 'I can't' (Fixed Mindset).  Having a growth mindset has influenced far more than just what students are learning, it has also influenced their sense of self as we have learned so much more about our emotions and how these influence they way we feel about ourselves, and they ways in which we are influenced by our interactions with others (Mood Meter).  Our Spring student survey demonstrated growth in individucal sense of self, and the fact that each one of us have a place and belong at Woodward Elementary.  Combining Growth Mindset with our Woodward Wildcat CARES model (Care for Self, Care for Others, Care for Place), students have also demonstrated growth in how they have navigated friendships and how they care for others.  Working through the lens of  'I can' has contributed greatly to this growth!

Please see our most recent Evidence and Action posts. As we start a new school year, we continue with our a focus on having a Growth Mindset, specifically in improving Literacy Skills school wide.  We look forward to sharing continued growth with you in our Action and Evidence Posts throughout the 2025-2026 school year!
